Reflection on Group Project

I thought I already posted this, but apparently not.

We didn't have any trouble with anything in Google groups, but we did have some trouble with group organization. I hit "reply" instead of "reply all" to an email, so Branda and I had a group all underway and then the other two started their own group and we were just not as organized as we should have been. However, I can really see how those Google groups would be a good tool for the classroom or even at a whole school level. We discussed social networking with students and all agreed we thought it was inappropriate, and I think the Google groups offers an elegant solution to that question--you could have your little group that is almost like a social network but devoted entirely to you class and class activities and class socialization, carefully monitored to keep it appropriate, and still be able to have informal rapport easily accessible online. Great tool, I can't wait to use it in the classroom.
